What the app connects to

• Your AI provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, or an Ollama model on your computer or at the address you set) gets the job text, your résumé and the form’s questions with the About you answers they need, to fit your résumé, answer questions and write a short prep for an interview. To find more job titles for a role, it gets the role’s name, the titles you search and your résumé’s title and summary, once per role. It analyzes the interview transcripts you add and translates a form’s questions into your language when you ask. To finish a follow-up email, it also gets that job’s notes and interview transcripts. With a ChatGPT plan you sign in at OpenAI, and the sign-in carries a random id for this install; with a Claude plan, the Claude Code program on your computer sends the requests, and its Install button downloads Anthropic’s installer from claude.ai. That provider’s policy applies.
• Your AI assistant, if you turn it on in Settings (it is off until you do): an AI assistant you set up on this computer, such as Claude Desktop or Claude Code, can read your roles, jobs, notes, résumés, the senders and subjects of job emails, found jobs, follow-ups and daily goal when you ask it something, and sends what it reads to the company that runs it (Anthropic for Claude) under that company’s terms. It never gets your passwords, AI keys, sign-ins, About you, form answers or the text of your emails, and nothing goes to Weavenly.
• Your email, if you connect it: see below.
• Address suggestions. When you type your home address, in the app's About you questions or in the question window of the browser panel, the app sends the words you type to Photon, an OpenStreetMap address search run by komoot (Germany), and once the city from About you, so addresses near you come first. The same lookup of your city runs when you add your résumé, so your region and country fill in by themselves. Like any website, Photon sees your computer’s IP address. The address you save stays on your computer and is not sent to your AI provider.
• Update checks on weavenly.app, when the app starts and when you check by hand: the request asks for the update file for your system and carries a random id that the updater keeps for this install, none of your data.
• The browser extension reads the job page and form in the tab where you use it, and passes them only to the app on your computer. On a Lever or Ashby application page with a short description, it reads that job’s public page once, without your cookies. It sends nothing to us.
• The public job list. To find jobs for your roles, the app downloads a public list of open jobs from index.weavenly.app. The list is split into broad job areas (like engineering or design), and the app downloads only the areas your roles need, and the area of a job an interview invitation names when the app doesn't know that job yet, to find its description; it sends nothing else about you. Your roles and searches are never sent to us; to find more titles for a role and to rate the best jobs, the app sends them, your résumé and the job's text to your own AI provider, as above. A job's full description comes straight from the employer's own job board, and a few remote job boards (Himalayas, Arbeitnow, Remotive, Remote OK, We Work Remotely) are read directly too, with no search words.
• H-1B data. Along with the job list, the app downloads one public file of H-1B and green card filings from index.weavenly.app, built from the U.S. Department of Labor's disclosure data. It is the same file for everyone, and the app looks up each job's employer in it on your computer; nothing about you or the jobs you look at is sent.
• Job pages. When you add a job by its link or import links, and when an interview invitation links the job’s posting, the app reads that page from the employer’s site, as a browser would. LinkedIn and Indeed pages are never read.

What we don’t collect

Not your résumé, letters, jobs, email, or your AI requests and answers. The app has no analytics or telemetry.

Your email

Connecting your email is optional. The app signs in to your mail provider (Gmail, Yandex, Mail.ru, iCloud, Yahoo or another) over IMAP and SMTP, with an app password you create at that provider.

• Reading. It reads the last 30 days of your Inbox, then new mail as it comes, to find employers’ replies, interview invitations and the calendar invites attached to them. From Spam it keeps only mail from the companies, recruiters and hiring systems you track.
• Sending. It sends a follow-up from your address only when you press Send, after you’ve read it.
• Nothing changes in your mailbox. Folders are opened read-only: nothing is marked as read, moved, flagged or deleted.

Mail that may be about a job is kept on your computer; other mail is not stored. If AI email sorting is on in Settings (it is off until you turn it on), a message’s subject, sender, date and text go to your AI provider to tell whether it is about a job or looks like a scam, to read an interview’s date and which company and job it is for, to write a short prep for that interview, and to finish a follow-up email for that job. With it off, nothing is sent.

The app password stays on your computer, encrypted with your system’s keychain where it has one. Your email is never used for ads, never sold, and never used to train AI.

Disconnecting. Settings → Mail → Disconnect deletes the password from your computer. You can also delete the app password at your mail provider, and it stops working at once.

This website

• Analytics (PostHog, servers in the US) turns on only if you pressed Accept. It counts page views. PostHog is a US company, so this data is processed in the US under the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. No ads, no selling data.
• Necessary: your browser remembers your language and your cookie choice, stored only on your side.
• Sign-in page. The app needs no account. If you use this site’s sign-in page, the email address you type goes to api.weavenly.app, which keeps it and emails you a sign-in link through Resend.
• Changed your mind? Press Cookie settings at the bottom of any page.

Your data, in your hands

The app’s data is in your folder: look at it, move it, or delete it with the folder. For the website’s data, write to us and we’ll delete it.
